The Girl Next Door

Already checking out the ladies!
Look Mommy, A DOG!
Daddy is sooooo fun!

Leo loves the neighbors, after all, the very pretty 6 year old Celia lives there. Also, Leo received his first kiss from Celia (lucky boy). The neighbors also have a dog named Nora, who Leo adores. He yells at her like she is a celebrity....."dog!!!" Nora loves Leo too because he attempts to throw tennis balls her way. Unfortunately, the fence is too high so balls always ricochet and bounce back to Leo, but they two of them never lose hope that someday there will be a successful throw!

The heat wave continues, so we spend much of our time at home by the kiddie pool. This week has been a challenge because Leo is hot and grumpy and is sleeping horribly at night. For the first time ever, I wish summer was over.

Heat Wave

Still obsessed with gold clubs
Mom, this is cold, but I
refuse to give up this hose!

We are experiencing another heat wave, so we have been spending many hours trying to cool off. We bought Leo a kiddie pool for the backyard, but I think Joe and I are enjoying it as much as Leo. I have also taken Leo to a local wading pool twice this week.

Our little man is now saying "schwimba" (swim) and "schwimbaging" (swimming). He also says boat. Although he looks happy in these photos, he has been Mr. Grumpy. I think it a combination of this heat and having 5 teeth come in at once.

Leo also started singing this week. He says "lalalalala" and although he doesn't vary the notes, it is adorable!!!

Side note: Leo will be 16 months tomorrow

5 Year Anniversary

Joe and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary on Friday, July 17. I can't believe time has gone by so quickly. On Friday, we took Leo to the gardens where we got married at. It was very hot and there was a ton of traffic on the way there, but seeing Leo cruise around the same gardens where we were married made it all worth while.

We had our first night on the town since he was born too. My mom watched Leo after he went to bed, so we were free to leave at night! It felt great. Our families were all very generous with gifts, so we will be able to go out on the town a few times! We're hoping that for our 10 year anniversary we can return to the Cook Islands where we had our honeymoon.

Our Little Boy

Leo is now 15 months old and he is just plain cute! Everyday his personality emerges more and more and it's also safe to say that he is more little boy than baby. He adores older children, especially boys a few years older than him, and will follow their lead. He also cracks up all the time. He will laugh at the sound of certain words such as buggy and bum and loves when Joe makes silly faces. He also mimics sounds and faces that we make and is so pleased with himself.

Leo also has 3 teeth coming in simultaneously, including his first set of molars. Poor little Leo! We have also started sleep training again because Leo was waking up every 2 hours and this is not healthy for anybody. Please wish us luck!
