Backyard Camping
Since Leo loves being "outshide" so much in our backyard, Joe set up a tent today. Leo had fun watching daddy set-up, but really wanted to participate. Our next step will be to take Leo on a real camping adventure. Stay tuned!

Summer Days
This afternoon the weather was so nice and Leo was having so much fun in the backyard. We got these cute family pics by entertaining Leo with a pine cone.
Leo also picked up a few new words and at this rate, he is learning a new word almost every day. Today he said tree and a few days ago he said "bubba," which is his way of saying baby.

Happy Father's Day!
Leo meets the real Thomas the Train
We kicked off the Father's Day celebration on Friday and took Leo to meet the real Thomas the Train. Joe took Friday off of work so we could avoid massive crowds. Our day out with Thomas was nearly perfect (Joe backed over the stroller as we were leaving the house, but luckily, Leo wasn't in the stroller). On our drive there, Leo napped and woke up just as we arrived to Hood River. Leo fit in with the older kids who were mostly between the ages of 3-7 and played with them as if he were a big boy. Among the highlights of the day were meeting Sir Topham Hatt, getting Leo a Thomas temporary tattoo, playing with toy trains, petting goats, sheep and lamas in the petting zoo, riding a school bus and seeing a full-sized Thomas. Leo was awestruck when he saw the train approaching. He was just trying to process the fact that the Thomas that he watches on television was right in front of him. We all had a blast and Leo even slept on the ride back!
We ended the day by visiting our friends Mike and Angie, who just had their second daughter Veronica Noelle on June 18th. She is so adorable!
Unbelievably Cute!
Due to some technical difficulties with the camera, I haven't been able to post for a while. I have so much to report though and Leo just keeps getting cuter with each day. He is now nearly 15 months old and says nearly 25 words. Some new words are night night, outside, chee-o (cheerios), book, daddy (instead of dada), 'siiiiide (outside) and bahloo (balloon), bus, truck and mamah (grandma). He has also started adding two words together such as "hi daddy" or "wow, car!"
He has recently become more affectionate. He will cuddle with me and kiss me and now seeks affection rather than waiting for us to instigate hugs/cuddles/kisses...this is the big pay-off we have been waiting for and it was sure worth the wait.
Leo also makes baskets in his basketball hoop, puts legos together, climbs anything he can. He loves his baths and can now blow bubbles.
He has also started to enjoy his bedtime routine and has a huge smile on his face after we sing him his goodnight song. It is easy to get him to go to bed at night, but he is still waking up 2-3 times a night. As you can see in the photos of Leo above, he looks extremely adorable in his pajamas.

Fun in the Sun!
Watching a movie with DadaWith Aubrey in the pool
We had so much fun this weekend. We are in the middle of a very good patch of weather and have been letting Leo play in the backyard a lot and cruise around in just his diaper.....so cute!!!
My Grandma and Uncle came up for a visit and we were able to spend some good time with them. They really enjoyed seeing Leo and how much he has changed since our last visit. Leo was 4 months the last time they saw him and he was a complete disaster. Everything made him cry and he was just not a happy camper, which was quite a change from the friendly, walking, talking little boy they got to meet this weekend.
We also had the chance to visit our friends the Marsh's. Their little girl Aubrey had a kiddie pool that Leo just stepped into. We weren't prepared for this (no swim trunks, no swim diaper or change of clothes), but it was a hot day, so I let him dive right in. On a side note, Angie is having a baby girl this month, so we are so excited for them.
